Fans clamour to wish James well on arrival at Murcia clinic

James Rodríguez was met by hoards of fans, all eager to wish him well as he entered hospital today for an operation on his fractured foot.

Hundreds of fans turned up at the doors of Murcia’s Quirón Hospital today, eagerly awaiting the arrival of James Rodríguez. The Real Madrid player underwent surgery to stitch a fractured fifth metatarsal bone in his right foot – an injury which forced him to retire early from last night’s game against Sevilla.

There was plenty of support for him outside the admissions door, and plenty of Colombian flags as compatriots came along to wish him well.
