Rayo raise 21,000 euros to help Carmen back on her feet
The Vallecas-based club confirmed that they have raised a significant sum to help an 85-year-old resident who was left homeless.
Rayo Vallecano have announced that their campaign to raise funds for an elderly member of the neighbourhood who was left on the street after being evicted from her flat has brought in 21,106.90 euros. The capital club created a new row of seats at the Estadio de Vallecas – “Row Zero” with five euros from every ticket sold going to their campaign to help Carmen. Players and coaching staff also made personal contributions from their own pockets. In less than five days from the launch of Row Zero, more than 2,000 euros had been rasied.
Rayo detailed how 15,025 euros had been collected from the 3,005 tickets sold for the league meeting with Sevilla and thanked another 159 individuals and businesses who had also helped the cause.
