BARCELONA | BOJAN KRKIC
“Bojan left Barça because Pep broke his promise”
Bojan Krkic’s father holds Pep Guardiola responsible for his son’s departure from the club.
Bojan Krkic’s father has revealed to the Daily Mail the reasons behind his son’s departure from Barcelona. “Bojan asked to go to Roma because Guardiola broke his promise that he’d let him feature in the Champions League final at Wembley.” In the end he didn’t feature at all. He didn’t even play a minute, which it seems led him to lose confidence in his manager.
The summer signing of David Villa also contributed to the player’s exit from the club. “In 2010, Guardiola left Ibra on the bench. Bojan played and scored decisive goals against Sevilla and Tenerife. Then, at the end of the season, they signed Villa...”
After spells at Roma, Milan and Ajax, Bojan’s father believes his son has found a good spot at Stoke: “At Stoke he’s playing out of his skin and he saves his best for the big games. He respects Mark Hughes and his innovative training techniques. He’s playing behind the striker and he has more freedom to express himself. He works for the team.”
