REAL MADRID | DIEGO LÓPEZ
"I can only say thanks to Madrid"
"I hope the transfer will be finalized tomorrow. I am very happy to go to a club like Milan," goalkeeper says as he leaves Barajas airport.
Diego López is already thinking about Milan. The Spanish goalkeeper caught a flight to Linate Airport at 6.50pm on Monday with the intention of sealing his move to Serie A giants AC Milan on Tuesday. "I hope the transfer will be finalized tomorrow and there will be no problems with the medical," said the now-former Real Madrid player in Barajas' Terminal 4.
The 32-year-old keeper did not wish to leave on a bad note, despite the controversy surrounding his exit from the Bernabéu club: "It has a very happy time in my life and I can only say thanks to Madrid. I will remember all the good things. It is a sad moment but you have to be positive. I will have the opportunity to say my farewells to all of Madridismo, which they deserve. Everything has happened very quickly. Will I come back? I think a third spell as a player is unlikely. Maybe one day as a club employee.”
"I am very happy to be moving to a club like Milan," he added. The Rossoneri plans to officially unveil López on Wednesday.
