Cristiano steps up training regime to make Super Cup date
He trained apart once again at Michigan University’s Scicluna Field and could be given minutes against Manchester United on Saturday.
Cristiano Ronaldo is battling against the clock to be fully fit for the UEFA Super Cup final against Sevilla on 12 August. The forward has been training apart from the group since rejoining the squad in Los Angeles last week. He continued to train with fitness trainer Santi Lozano today – Madrid’s first full day in Michigan. Cristiano took to Eastern Michigan University’s Scicluna Sports Field this morning, exercising for more than an hour.
Carlo Ancelotti hinted after the Roma game that Cristiano could be handed his first run-out of the pre-season on Saturday – ironically, against his former club Manchester United in Madrid’s final participation in the International Champions Cup. A 110,000-strong crowd is expected to pack the Big House Stadium in Ann Arbor to watch Madrid take on United.
