Leonardo Jardim: "For now, Falcao is a Monaco player"
The Monaco boss was asked about possible interest from Real Madrid in sealing a loan deal for 'El Tigre', who suffered a serious knee injury in January.
AS Monaco coach Leonardo Jardim has insisted that Radamel Falcao, who could be the object of Real Madrid interest, remains the Principality outfit’s player “for now”.
Asked about Los Blancos’ possible designs on a loan deal for the Colombian, who is continuing his return from a long-term knee injury, Jardim said only: “For now, Radamel Falcao is a Monaco player and he’s in my plans.”
The Monaco boss also placed a date on the ex-Atlético Madrid striker’s comeback: “I think he’ll be able to start playing as of the Emirates Cup [held on the weekend of 2/3 August]. He’s in the final phase of his recovery.”
Meanwhile, Jardim did not appear unduly concerned about James Rodríguez’s recent move to Real from the Ligue 1 club. “He was an important player last season, but now he belongs to Monaco’s past. I’m focused on the players I have.”
