ATLÉTICO DE MADRID
Initial offer for Keylor Navas rebuffed by Levante
Atlético’s first approach for the goalkeeper, an offer of 5 million euros plus Leo Baptistão, failed to convince Levante’s board.
Levante continue to tighten the cord on sought-after goalkeeper Keylor Navas. The coastal club have already rejected a reported three-million euro bid from Porto and now have turned down Atlético de Madrid who offered five million euros plus out of favour forward Leo Baptistão. The Granotas are determined to hold out until the highest bidder comes along, with the keeper having impressed in 2014 World Cup Brazil with Costa Rica. It is however, a risky manoeuvre, as Levante could well end up pricing Navas out of the market and end up not being able to sell him.
The player has tried to keep on the margins of negotiations but is keen to seal his future as soon as possible. For Navas, a move to Atlético is appealing but the idea of joining Porto wouldn’t displease him either.
