VICENTE DEL BOSQUE
"A good man halfway through his life has gone"
"I join his wife, children and family in their pain at this difficult time,” the Spain coach said.
Spain coach Vicente del Bosque expressed his sadness over the death of former Barcelona trainer Tito Vilanova: “A good man halfway through his life,” he said, before offering his condolences to his wife, family and children.
“A good man has left us, who during his life always did his work well and without doing anything against anybody. He has gone halfway through his life. It’s a big loss,” he told EFE in a phone conversation after hearing the news Vilanova’s death in Barcelona at the age of 45 after a long illness.
“I join his wife, children and family in their pain at this difficult time,” he added.
Del Bosque also emphasised the good relationship both shared, and referred to Vilanova’s time in charge of Barcelona. “Besides my own experiences, the people I know that have shared experiences with him appreciated him a lot. My relationship with him was always cordial, he was a nice guy that always collaborated. I’m very sorry he’s gone.”
