Neymar hoping to be fit for final day clash with Atlético
The Barça forward tells Brazilian television that he aims to return ahead of time to be available for the meeting with Atlético on 18 May.
Neymar hopes to cut short his recovery from a foot injury to be available for the final game of the season against Atlético de Madrid on 18 May. The Barça forward suffered an edema affecting the fourth metatarsal bone of his left football during Wednesday’s Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid. Club medical staff estimate that he will be sidelined for four weeks.
He told Brazilian television channel Sport TV today: “It’s quite an uncomfortable injury. After the game, I was hardly able to walk but I’m confident that I will make a quick recovery. I knew that I would be out for a while but I’m sure that in three weeks’ time I’ll be back playing and ready for the last league game.
“It’s horrible not being able to train, or play – I can’t do anything; that’s the worst feeling for any footballer. I hope I will get well and am back playing soon,” the Brazil international added.
