Atlético Madrid midfielder Koke has ruled out an end-of-season exit from the Vicente Calderón, insisting that he is not currently considering moving on.

Speaking at a promotional event for Adidas in the centre of Madrid, the Spain international said: “I’m very happy here at my home club.”

Future: “I’m happy and I’m not thinking at all about leaving right now. I’m very happy here at my home club and I want to stay, and that’s why I have a long-term contract.”

Barcelona: “We put in a great tie, above all in the home leg, where we played a great match. We’re people who feel a lot for what we do and we showed that on the pitch. We wanted to send out a statement and we did that.”

Champions League semi-final draw: “Whichever team we get is going to be very difficult. Madrid derby? I don’t mind. In the end, what’s important is trying to make the final. Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Chelsea are in there and I couldn’t say which is better right now. We’re going to have to put in a great tie like we did against Barcelona.”

After the Barça match: “It was great. We got to the dressing room, we looked at the TV and saw that no one was leaving, so we had to go out and see the fans. We did a sort of lap of honour and then, when we were back in the dressing room, we all called our families.”

Thibaut Courtois availability if Atlético draw Chelsea in the last four: “If I could, I’d give him the money so that he could play. He’s important to us and he’s shown that. Thibaut is a really good goalkeeper, but we’ll see which team we draw and we’ll see what happens.”

Success: “It’s been many years of sacrifice and desire. I think it’s important that there’s a good spirit in the dressing room. We’re friends and there are no problems. When the season starts, you dream of doing the best you can. We doing so and we’re happy with what we’re doing.”

Physical condition: “Since July we’ve been preparing, sometimes in double sessions. People had the impression that we weren’t going to last, but the team isn’t tiring, it’s still working and we have plenty of desire.”

Message to fans: “The people should dream. The fans have to dream, but we [those within the club] have to be realistic and think about Sunday [against Getafe in the Liga BBVA].”
