Isco is to remain a last-minute doubt for Sunday’s Liga BBVA match between Real Madrid and Barcelona. The 21-year-old stayed in the gym in the early stages of training on Saturday morning after complaining of flu symptoms, before joining the group for the remainder of the session.

Karim Benzema, who had been struggling with a quadriceps problem, trained as normal together with Ángel Di María, the Argentine having remained indoors on Friday with a fever. Pepe, who had been suffering from hay fever symptoms, also trained. Benzema showed some signs of discomfort during training at Valdebebas, Real Madrid’s training complex, but completed the session with the rest of the group and will be in Carlo Ancelotti’s team to face the Blaugrana.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid Castilla player Kiko Femenía joined up with the first-team squad for Saturday’s session.

Real Madrid squad to face Barcelona: Casillas, Diego López, Jesús Fernández, Varane, Pepe, Ramos, Coentrão, Marcelo, Carvajal, Nacho, Xabi Alonso, Bale, Modric, Di María, Isco, Illarramendi, Casemiro, Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema and Morata.
