Broken security camera hampers search for tear gas suspect
A security camera which could contain vital information in helping police find the man who launched a gas canister has been broken for 20 days.
Police who are trying to identify the person who launched a tear gas canister on the pitch during Villarreal’s meeting with Celta last month have met another obstacle. According to ‘Sportyou’, a security camera which could contain vital information about the suspect has been broken for the past 20 days.
As part of the investigations, Spain’s Interior Ministry requested footage from the closed-circuit camera situated near to the gate whether the suspect presumably gained entry and later, exited the stadium. Villarreal’s security team were surprised to find that the camera has not been functioning for almost two weeks. Despite the setback, investigations continue.
