Barça set aside 50-60 million for four summer signings
Vice-president Javier Faus also told Catalunya radio that the Blaugranas “sell two and a half shirts for every one Real Madrid sells”.
FC Barcelona Economic Vice-president Javier Faus spoke to Catalunya Ràdio on Friday evening about Catalan club’s ‘Nou Espai Barça’ or ‘Barça Space’ project and their budget for next season’s first inscription period. Faus declared that a figure of “between 50 and 60 million euros” will be set aside for Barça’s Sports department, headed by Andoni Zubizarreta, to spend on summer signings. Faus added that the club is looking to make “four reinforcements” ahead of the new campaign.
The vice-president also highlighted the economic repercussions involved in having a player like Neymar who, in Brazil “is like a god” and cited FC Barcelona as the world’s leaders in shirt sales: “Barça sell two and a half shirts for every one Real Madrid sells,” he explained.
