REAL MADRID | CARLO ANCELOTTI
"Cristiano hopes to win the Ballon d'Or, and he deserves to"
Speaking on Italian radio, Ancelotti added: "He is a very serious professional, he applies himself, he looks after the tiny details, he doesn't leave anything to chance."
Carlo Ancelotti has reiterated his belief that Cristiano Ronaldo, who he insists "is doing extraordinary things" at the moment, deserves to win the Ballon d'Or.
Speaking to Milan-based radio station 'Deejay', the Italian said: "Does Cristiano deserve to win the Ballon d'Or? Absolutely, he hopes to win it and he deserves to win it, because he is doing extraordinary things. The Ballon d'Or is closely linked to this club's past successes."
Staying on the Portuguese, who has scored 16 goals already this season in La Liga and eight in the Champions League, Ancelotti added:
"Cristiano is a very serious professional, he applies himself, he looks after the tiny details, he doesn't leave anything to chance. He is in perfect physical condition. Every other great player should do what he does if they want to reach the top and stay there, being talented isn't enough."
Varane: “He's a great talent, leaving aside the errors he made against Juventus. He has been out of action for four to five months with a knee injury, but he has all the qualities to become a great defender."
The final stages of Mourinho's era at Madrid: "There were some problems, but now I think the squad is united and together. Now no-one talks of the past, we focus on what we have to do."
Pirlo: "Could Andrea join Real Madrid? No. But he is still one of the best players around."
Future: “My aim is to stay at Real Madrid for a long time, but in football things can change very quickly."
World Cup: "I think Brazil are the favourites because they are playing at home. Then I would say Spain, Germany, and, I hope, Italy."
