Real Madrid return home after US Tour
The plane carrying the squad touched down at 8:00 CEST. Arbeloa and Sergio remain in the US and will join up with the Spain squad later today.
Real Madrid are back on home soil after completing a successful tour of the United States . The players have been granted two days off before they return to work to begin preparations for their league opener against Betis at the Bernabéu next weekend.
The Madrid party landed at Barajas International airport at 8:00 hours on Sunday morning, following a direct flight from Saint Louis where they staged their final friendly of the pre-season against Inter Milan. Carlo Ancelotti’s side end the close season unbeaten with six wins and one draw from their seven outings.
Álvaro Arbeloa and Sergio Ramos did not board the flight back to Madrid. The two defenders have stayed on in the United States and will fly out to Ecuador to join up with the Spain squad later today. Arbeloa and Ramos have been called for Spain’s friendly meeting with Ecuador on Wednesday.
Ancelotti’s available players – those who are not on international duty this week, are expected to turn up for duty on Wednesday 14th for a training session, which will be held behind closed doors at 17:30 CEST in Valdebebas.
