Pepe, Cristiano and Coentrao called for Portugal friendly
The Real Madrid trio form part of Paulo Bento’s 23-man squad for next week’s friendly meeting with Holland in Faro.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Pepe and Fábio Coentrão (Real Madrid); Ricardo Costa and Joao Pereira (Valencia); Hélder Postiga (Zaragoza) and Beto (Sevilla) feature in Paulo Bento’s Portugal squad for the friendly meeting against Holland on August 14th.
Pepe returns after missing June’s 2014 World Cup qualifier against Russia through suspension.
It will be the first meeting between the two countries’ since they clashed during the group stage of EURO 2012, Cristiano Ronaldo bagging a brace in the 2-1 victory. Portugal will be using the match to prepare for their upcoming 2014 World Cup qualifier against Northern Ireland in Belfast on September 6th, Holland are guests of Estonia in Tallinn on the same day.
Portugal top their qualifying section with 14 points from the first seven matches – two more than Russia who have two games in hand.
