Del Bosque: "Illaramendi has the personality to play for any team"
The Spain coach gave an interview to the national radio station, in which he described Real Madrid's latest signing Isco as "the future".
Vicente Del Bosque believes that the Real Sociedad midfielder Asier Illaramendi, who is being targetted by Real Madrid, would fit in perfectly at the Bernabéu.
In an interview with Spain's national radio station, the Spain coach heaped praise on the 23-year-old and Madrid's latest signing, Isco.
"Illarramendi is the complete midfielder. He has the personality to play for any team in the world," said Del Bosque.
On the former Málaga attacking midfielder, who was presented at the Bernabéu earlier this week.
He said: "We have a lot of hope pinned to Isco, he is the future of the national team."
He also discussed his side's performance at the Confederations Cup.
"We played good football at times but the final wiped away everything we did up to then. We now have another year to try and make sure we have a good World Cup - if we qualify."
Del Bosque also defended Álvaro Arbeloa from criticism for his performances in Brazil, and did the same for goalkeeper Iker Casillas.
He said: "Álvaro played very well throughout the tournament. It's as if we are always looking for the weak link, and we are all guilty of that. Casillas was magnificent."
And he insisted that 33-year-old Xavi Hernández, who did not enjoy the best of tournaments, still had a lot to offer on the international stage.
"I don't think age should impede someone for playing for their country," he said.
