LIVERPOOL | ASPAS TRANSFER
Aspas transfer to Liverpool delayed due to rift with ex-agent
The Spanish Football Federation has still not sent the necessary documentation to England in order for the transfer to be confirmed.
With all elements of the deal signed and sealed by both the club and player, one final document is preventing Iago Aspas from being confirmed as a Liverpool player.
The Spanish Football Federation has still not sent the necessary documentation to England because Aspas’ former agent, Jorge Santomé, has asked them to withhold the papers, owing to an ongoing rift with Aspas and his brother Jonathan Aspas, the striker’s current agent.
However, it is likely to be just a matter of hours before this divison is resolved and Iago Aspas’ transfer appears in Liverpool’s offices. In fact, directors at the Anfield club have been very relaxed about the matter, because they know the Federation will give the green light to the deal and send the final document that will allow the striker to be officially announced as a Liverpool player.
