Real Madrid's assistant coach Aitor Karanka said he feels happy with how the team reacted after the break to resolve their meeting with Deportivo. He praised Kaká but said that he wasn't at all surprised when Di María was sent off, saying, "It will be front page news when we end a game with 11 players".
Kaká and his chances of starting against Barça: "We will wait and see how all the players are tomorrow. Tonight, he was quite frankly, very good and his positive state of mind will only help him".
Second half switches: "We didn't enjoy a good first half and we needed to make substitutions at the start of the second half. I don't think that the changes we made were the reason behind the team's improvement. It was the players' attitude which provoked the change in our game".
Di María's dismissal: "It was a trivial action to send someone off. When we end a game with 11 players, it will make the front pages".
Depor's motivation: "It didn't surprise me because we know that there is a lot at stake for them. They have a well-known coach - one who was born and bred in La Coruña. The only surprising thing was that we didn't go in at the break having conceded more goals".
