Real Madrid's first-team squad returned to training on Friday after enjoying a rest day following the 1-1 draw in the Champions League last 16 tie against Manchester United. Mourinho's men began preparations for Sunday's league game against Rayo Vallecano in the Santiago Bernabéu (21:00 CET).
Apart from Casillas, the Portuguese coach had all of his first-team players available, including Xabi Alonso and Özil, who were both shaking off injuries. The big news was the participation of Castilla's midfielder José Rodríguez.
Mourinho Split the session into three groups. One of which included those that had played the most minutes against Man Utd (Ramos, Varane, Arbeloa, Coentrão, Khedira, Özil, Di María, Xabi Alonso and Cristiano Ronaldo), who carried out a light training session.
The rest of the squad, apart from the goalkeepers, worked at a higher tempo. Morata, Nacho and José Rodríguez all took part in the training session.
