Sergio Agüero gave an interview to Argentinean daily, Olé this week in which he spoke about a number of subjects including this year's Ballon d'Or. The identity of the 2012 winner will be revealed on Monday but for the Manchester City striker, the award should go to his compatriot, Leo Messi.
"The Ballon d'Or is always for Messi - especially after the number of goals he scored in 2012! He deserves it - for everything he does for Barcelona and the Argentina national team", Agüero said.
The player also admitted that he too dreams of being crowned the number one player in the world. "I think a lot of players dream about being the best in the world or about winning the World Cup or the Champions League. And of course, winning the Ballon d'Or would fill any player with happiness".
Any dreams about winning the Champions League will be on hold at least until next season for Man City who were dumped out of the current tournament at the group stage. "That was very painful," Agüero continued," because we had such high expectations. But once again we were drawn in a very difficult group - with the Spanish champions, the Dutch champions and the German champions and when you are playing at that level, you either win or lose".
