Barcelona have little hope of beating Real Madrid to Gareth Bale's signature this summer, unless the Welshman shows the same insistence that Cesc Fàbregas showed to join the Catalan club over 'Los Blancos'.
According to 'The Daily Mirror', both clubs have been following the left sided player for the last few months but Barça have refused to enter into a bidding war with Madrid.
The newspaper claims that Madrid are close to tying up the deal, and are ready to offer Spurs around 50 million euros and Bale a salary of around 2.2 million euros per year.
Barcelona will use similar tactics to when they signed Fábregas from Arsenal, by offering the player a similar salary to that what he earns at the moment with Tottenham - around 1.2 million euros. However, Barça do not have the advantage they had with the Catalan midfielder, who played in Barça's youth team and had strong emotional ties to the club. Bale has no such links to Barcelona, and has publicly admitted his admiration for Real Madrid.
