José Callejón was delighted with Real Madrid's 5-1 victory over Athletic Bilbao.
"It was obvious that we were desperate to win the game and play really well."
The 25-year-old singled out the performance of Karim Benzema, whose deflected goal got the ball rolling, and who then scored Madrid's third and provided the pass for Mesut Özil's goal, Madrid's fourth.
"He played really well, he was the best player on the night and we are all delighted for him."
Callejón himself provided the pass for Benzema's goal and his performance earned him a standing ovation when he was substituted late in the second half.
"I always try to play as best as I can, I'm delighted to be able to provide an assist and help my team-mates score."
"Now we are off to Manchester and we have to take all three points so that we can top the group. Winning a game like this before is the perfect send off for us."
