Torres: "I'm sure Luis Aragonés would be proud of this Atleti"

Fernando Torres couldn't help his emotions from affecting him as he watches a video of the Calderón's farewell and remembered Luis Aragonés at an event today.

Torres talks about waving the Calderón goodbye

“It was a fantastic day – a very emotional one for all Atléticos, of all ages, for many to be able to see the players who were their idols back in the day; and for us to see some of this club’s greatest legends who have worked both on and off the pitch to maintain that spirit and passion for the club. It was only right that we gave this stadium the send-off it deserves – a stadium which for me represents practically everything that I have lived through at this club. Obviously we would all have loved to have seen many of the greats in action here – unfortunately, they can’t be with us – we remembered for instance Luis Aragonés, who perhaps was the most important person in this club’s history. I’m sure that, where he is, he is very proud of how Atleti continues to be”, the striker said.
