Germany's under-17 side progressed to the final of the Women's European Championship after a penalty shoot-out with Norway in a game that will enter the history books.

Uefa decided to use the tournament in the Czech Republic to trial a new format for penalties: each nation took two spot kicks at a time instead of taking it in turns one-by-one.

Germany went through to the final where they will play Spain after keeper Stina Johannes saved consecutive penalties from Norway's Silje Bjorneboe and My Haugland before Andrea Brunner netted the decisive goal.
