Qualifier Basak Eraydin pulled off the biggest win of her career when she beat Tsvetana Pironkova in Istanbul, to the extent that she didn't realise she'd won the match.
Eraydin, the world number 257, saw off a player ranked almost 200 places above her and seeded seventh at the Istanbul Cup in a 6-2, 6-4 win.
She will go on to play either qualifier Elizaveta Kulichkova or compatriot and wildcard entry Ayla Aksu in round.
