Suárez: "I wish Messi had scored after that 'PlayStation' run"

Amazed by Messi

Luis Suárez said even he couldn't quite believe it when team mate Leo Messi set off on a darting run in last night’s Catalan derby, dodging past three Espanyol defenders before laying the ball up for the Uruguayan to tuck in his second of the match. That wasn’t the only piece of genial generosity Suárez was treated to during the game – earlier, Andrés Iniesta picked him out with a sensational lofted pass – it was matched by the Barça striker’s neat control - he brought down the ball with the outside of his boot before beating Diego López with an angled shot.

“I think I deserve a little merit too don't I! (laughs), no, just kidding. Both moves were completely different – Andrés’ pass put me clean through on goal and Leo’s move was straight out of the PlayStation, it was unique which only someone like him can do”, he told Movistar+ in the Flash Zone. Now he is level on 12 goals with Messi but after netting 59 goals in all competitions last term, says he hasn’t set himself a target for the season.. “No, all I want is to enjoy my football, win matches and win important trophies with Barcelona”.
