Erik "Tabzz" Van Helvert arrastra una larga trayectoria profesional en la competición de League of Legends. Anterior jugador de la LCS en el pasado split de primavera junto a Roccat, para más tarde competir en la Challenger Series con Millenium, el holandés a sus 22 años regresa a la máxima competición, será el tirador titular en la alineación de Origen para la próxima temporada.

Shafi: Vuelves a la LCS fichando por Origen, ¿qúe sientes al volver a la máxima competición en Europa?

Tabzz: Estoy feliz de poder volver a la máxima competición. En los últimos meses he estado trabajando muy duro y he mejorado mucho, y estoy ansioso por volver al escenario para sobrepasar las expectativas de todo el mundo.

Shafi: Cuando Origen se interesó por ti, ¿qué se te pasó por la mente?

Tabzz: Estaba emocionado por el interés de Origen. Pasé un largo periodo de pruebas y finalmente fui elegido para poder jugar en el equipo. Me sentí muy feliz cuando fui elegido y lo daré todo para hacer saber a Origen que ficharme fue la decisión correcta.

Shafi: Origen tuvo un magnífico año competitivo en 2015, incluso en el split de primavera del 2016 todavía el equipo mantenía un buen nivel. Sin embargo, en el split de verano casi descienden a la Challenger Series, ¿cuáles crees que son las expectativas reales para el equipo en esta temporada?

Tabzz: Esta temporada Origen ha sido completamente reconstruido desde cero. A pesar de ello, todos los miembros del equipo tienen hambre de éxito y estamos mejorando muy rápidamente. Continuaremos trabajando y mejorando día a día. Mis expectativas son que alcancemos los playoffs.

Shafi: PowerOfEvil dijo recientemente que tenía que jugar contra los propios fans de Origen sea cual fuera el rendimiento del equipo o el suyo propio. Origen tiene una de las bases de fans más entregadas de la escena competitiva, ¿te preocupa la presión que los aficionados puedan ejercer sobre ti?

Tabzz: Estoy emocionado por unirme a un equipo que tiene una afición tan apasionada. La presión de los fans me hace querer trabajar duro para que ellos puedan estar orgullosos del equipo que hemos formado. Comprendo que los fans tan solo quieren ver a Origen triunfar y eso no es algo malo. Aun así, todo equipo tiene sus altibajos, es natural. Simplemente espero que los fans de Origen nos apoyen pase lo que pase.

Shafi: ¿Qué opinas acerca de tus nuevos compañeros? ¿Cómo está siendo la comunicación con el resto del equipo?

Tabzz: Me gustan mis nuevos compañeros y compaginamos excelentemente tanto en el juego como en la vida real. La comunicación con NaeHyun y Wisdom no es un problema ya que Wisdom es bueno con el inglés y puede traducir para NaeHyun si es necesario.

Shafi: Mucha gente ha sido crítica con la incorporación de diversos jugadores que forman parte del equipo. ¿Qué les dirías aquellos seguidores de Origen que no están contentos o satisfechos con los fichajes realizados en el equipo?

Tabzz: Algunos de los jugadores del equipo son percibidos como figuras controvertidas por la comunidad. A los fans de Origen que no están felices con los fichajes les diría que no se preocupen y que nos vean jugar antes de que clasifiquen los fichajes como un error.

Shafi: Hay un debate abierto sobre el rol de tirador, me gustaría saber ¿qué opinión tienes formada respecto a los ADC de cara a la nueva temporada?

Tabzz: Creo que desde el final de la temporada cuatro, todos los parches han hecho que el resto de los roles sean más fuertes y que los tiradores sean más débiles. Como consecuencia, los tiradores han pasado a tener un rol más de apoyo, otorgando iniciación y centrándose en mantenerse vivos, en vez de hacer jugadas proactivas y agresivas. En el panorama competitivo, con un equipo en el que confías, esto no es un gran problema. Puede llegar a ser muy frustrante en SoloQ, donde los tiradores tienen muy poco impacto en el resultado de la partida.

Erik "Tabzz" Van Helvert can be considered as one of the veterans prfessional players of League of Legends. Former ADC for Roccat in the Spring split of 2016, he competed later in the Challenger Series with Millenium. The Dutchman now returns to the maximum European competition being the starting marksman of Origen's roster for the next season.

Shafi: You are back to the LCS signing with Origen, What are your feelings about your return to the top competition in Europe?

Tabzz: I am happy to be able to return to the top competition. The last months I have worked very hard and gained a lot of skill, and I am excited to bring it back to the stage and exceed everyone's expectations.

Shafi: When Origen became interested in you, What did you think?

Tabzz: I was excited about Origen's interest. I went through a long tryout process and was ultimately picked to play. I felt very happy when I was picked and will do everything I can to make sure Origen's knows their decision to sign me was correct.

Shafi: You arrive to a team which had a great competitive year in 2015 and, even in the Spring split, they still had a good level. However, in the Summer split Origen almost got relegated to the Challenger Series, What do you think are the real expectations for the team for this season?

Tabzz: This season Origen has been completely rebuilt from scratch. However everyone on the team is hungry for success and we are improving very fast. We will keep working hard and improve every day. I expect us to reach the playoffs.

Shafi: PowerOfEvil recently said that he had to play against a big part of the own Origen’s fan base regardless of the own/team performance or game result. Origen has one of the most dedicated fan base of the competitive scene. Could the pressure of the fans affect you?

Tabzz: I am excited to join a team that has such a passionate and dedicated fanbase. The pressure of the fans makes me want to work hard so they can be proud of the team we've put together. I understand that the fans only want to see Origen succeed and that's not a bad thing. However every team will have ups and downs, it's natural. I just hope Origen's fans will support us through both.

Shafi: What do you think about your new teammates? How is the communication with the rest of the team?

Tabzz: I like all my new teammates and we get along very well ingame and in real life. The communication with NaeHyun and Wisdom is not a problem since Wisdom is good at english and can translate for NaeHyun if it is necessary.

Shafi: Many people have been sceptical with the incorporation of some of the players who are now part of the team. What would you say to those Origen fans who are not happy with the signings made by the team?

Tabzz: Some of the players on the team have controversial reputations in the community, but I'm sure we will exceed expectations. To the Origen fans who aren't happy with the signings I'd say to not worry, and watch us play before writing off the signings as a mistake.

Shafi: There is an open debate on the role of marksman, some think that the marksmans scale very slow, others that the problem is that tanks inflict too much damage considering the purpose for which they were conceived, What opinion you have formed regarding the ADCs facing the new season?

Tabzz: I think since the end of season 4, every patch made other roles stronger and ADC weaker. As a result, ADC transformed more into a supportive role that provides engage and focuses on staying alive, rather than making proactive aggressive plays. In competitive play with a team you trust, this is not a big problem. It can get very frustrating in solo queue though, when you have very little impact on the outcome of the game.
