REAL MADRID

Man Utd and PSG to offer €60m for Di María

Madrid value him at €70m, and feel his sale would accomodate the arrival of James Rodríguez

Manu Sainz

If the Argentina international doesn't change his mind, Di María will leave Real Madrid this summer, becoming the most expensive player sold by a Spanish club, a mantra currently held by Luis Figo. Real Madrid value 'el Fideo' at around €70m, with both Manchester United and PSG reported to be willing to offer around €60m.

The player wants to leave, and Madrid will accept a record amount for his departure, despite the fact Ancelotti wants to keep him. The player's desire, coupled with the fact a record offer is likely to be received, means that top officials at the Bernabéu are open to his exit. Both Manchester United and PSG want to make the Argentine into one of the highest earners in world football. Arsenal, City and Monaco are also interested in Di María, but will not pay more than €50m for the player.

Last summer Madrid were open to selling Di María to ease the economic impact of Bale's arrival, but the Argentine dug his heels in and stayed. Then came that gesture. But Ancelotti has changed around the player's fortunes, finding a spot for him in the centre of the park, as he became key to the side's double win. The €60m raised from his sale will go towards the likely arrival of James Rodríguez...
