Alexis Sánchez is currently on his way to Barcelona, halfway through his summer holidays, with his mind focused on resolving a move away from the club. This issue has become even more apparent following the news that Barça and Liverpool have reached a deal for Luis Suárez to join Los Culés for 79.2 million euros. The sale of the Chile international will condition when Suárez’s move will be made official. The ex-Chilean president, Sebastián Piñera, was on the same flight as Alexis and was photographed with the player, before posting the shot on social media.
Zubizarreta had made it clear a few days ago that the Chile striker was ‘transferable’ as Barça look to sell on certain players to fund their huge wage bill: “In Alexis’s case there has been some movement and I don’t know what will happen in the end, whether he’ll stay with us or not.”
According to the Catalan TV channel TV3, Barça have valued the player somewhere between 30 and 35 million euros. At the beginning, there was an attempt to include Alexis in the deal with Luis Suárez, but the striker was not keen on a move to Liverpool. According to TV3, two offers are on the table: one from Juventus and the other from Arsenal. Barça prefer the Gunners’ more lucrative offer but are yet to listen to the player himself, who may prefer a return to Serie A in Italy, where he previously played for Udinese Calcio.
