Following the murmurs which have been doing the rounds on the rumour mill during the past few days, linking Víctor Valdés to Monaco, Rac 1 Radio claimed on Thursday that the goalkeeper will sign a four-year contract with French Riviera-based outfit during the winter inscription period.
Valdés has already made it clear that he intends to quit Camp Nou on completion of his contract in June 2014. And should he finally join Monaco at the end of the season, he will be reunited with ex-Blaugrana, Éric Abidal.
Abidal was one of a handful of signings which Monaco made last summer on their return to Ligue 1. Falcao, James Rodríguez, Toulalan, Kondogbia, Moutinho and Carvalho were brought on board, heralding a new era at the club. Claudio Ranieri’s side currently sit top of the table and have yet to be beaten in their first season back in the top flight.
