Finally, Gareth Bale turned up to training with Tottenham on Tuesday, but continued his arm-wrestle with the North London club by arriving late.
Spurs begin training at 10:30 each day and players are supposed to arrive half an hour early to get prepared. The Welshman was spotted by AS arriving at 10:35, by which time his team-mates were already training on the pitch.
Bale had threatened the club with not even training at all, as he was annoyed with manager André Villas-Boas' comments after the team's friendly with Monaco, which the Madrid target did not travel to.
The Portuguese coach declared after the 2-5 defeat to the Ligue 1 side:
"I think the rumours that anything is imminent are not true.
"We've allowed ourselves conversations with Real Madrid, confirmed by their coach, I think, wrongly, but the only thing we've communicated is that the player is our player and not for sale."
Bale is understood to have been angry with his manager's words, as he is aware that negotiations are underway between the two clubs.
Tottenham told the forward that they would fine him if he did not attend training. In the end, Bale turned up, but he turned up late.
