Málaga spent Friday holding talks with Arsenal centre-forward Nicklas Bendtner. AS leaned that the player arrived in the Costa del Sol yesterday to discuss a possible move to La Rosaleda. The operation would cost Málaga a fee of around three million euros – a figure they are willing to pay.
As it stands, the only obstacle appears to be convincing Bendtner to take a pay cut. Málaga refuse to meet the kind of wages the player has enjoyed in recent years and are proposing a more modest salary. Málaga coach Bernd Schuster is keen to bolster the team’s attack this summer and Bendtner is the ideal choice. The player has now returned home but negotiations are set to continue.
