Xabi Prieto: "Being in the Champions League places is amazing"

Xabi Prieto, the author of a much-debated winner at the Vicente Calderón on Sunday night, claimed after the game that the Basque outfit was "solid at the back" and had luck on their side to serve Atlético de Madrid their first home defeat since April 2012.
Solid defending: "Last week we conceded three goals at home so tonight, we were determined to be solid at the back and we managed to do just that".
Positive results on the road: "At the start of the campaign, we struggled a little away fom home but we have improved - particularly in defence while in attack, we have some pacey players who can do a lot of damage".
Logging a Champions League place: "It's amazing. If someone had said at the start of the season that we would be in the Champions League places, we would have thought they were mad. Let's hope we can stay in this position".
