Spanish radio reported on Saturday that Real Madrid midfielder Mesut Özil has been fined 500 euros and had six penalty points deducted from his licence by Madrid's Municipal Police for committing a driving offence. It is believed that the player was penalized for making an improper turn.

Özil is the latest in a line of Madrid players who have been fined for traffic infractions in recent days - Benzema, Marcelo and Essien have all been dealt fines for various driving offences.
