"I work hard to help the team," Karim Benzema told Real Madrid's website. The France international, who will miss Real Madrid's game against Deportivo La Coruña (20.00 CET) with a knee injury, insisted that his absence had nothing to do with disciplinary action. Benzema was substituted in Real Madrid's last game against Rayo Vallecano, with José Mourinho replacing him with Morata, a player from the Real Madrid ranks.
"I'm working hard and hope to join up with the rest as soon as possible. It's an important week and I want to help. It's a shame I'm not in La Coruña, but my team-mates and coach know I'm working hard to be in the best shape possible," he told Realmadrid.com.
"Right now, I feel positive about things. I want nothing more than to be in good shape and be able to help my team as soon as possible," he added.
