Former Chelsea player and coach, Ruud Gullit, said he was sure that José Mourinho would return to Chelsea in the summer: "Rafa Benítez's main objective this season is to qualify for the Champions League, then he will make way for José Mourinho. I have a feeling that Mourinho will be back at Chelsea," he added. The Portuguese trainer was in charge of the London side from 2004 to 2007.
"I had a feeling already before the (Champions League) final that Mourinho was maybe coming to Chelsea. From the moment Chelsea won it, I think Mourinho said no because it's not a coincidence that he signed his contract just after," Gullit explained.
"Chelsea want him for next season. That is my feeling, if it's right I don't know. It took a while for Chelsea to find somebody new because they wanted somebody else, but who wants to go to a team that has just won the Champions League?"
