Málaga's delicate economic situation and their UEFA-imposed ban from European competition as of next season has lead to growing speculation that Manuel Pellegrini will not be the club's coach come next summer.
There are now as many clubs sounding out the Chilean coach as there are chasing Málaga's players, and the Chilean media have linked Pellegrini to the Manchester City dugout.
Website 24hras.cl has reported that the coach and the Manchester club have reached a verbal agreement about him taking over from Roberto Mancini at the Etihad stadium at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, in other Málaga news, River Plate vice-president Diego Turnes has claimed that the Argentine giants will sign Martin Demichelis and Javier Saviola next season.
Both players, 32 and 31 years old respectively, began their careers with 'Los Millionarios' and their contracts with Málaga expire in June.
