Franck Ribery has declared that Bayern Munich are as good a side as Barcelona.
Bayern beat Arsenal 3-1 at the Emirates stadium on Tuesday in the first leg of their last 16 Champions League tie, while Barça were beaten 0-2 at the San Siro by AC Milan.
"I think this is the best side we have had since I arrived here," the Frenchman told German newspaper 'Bild'.
"Barcelona are a different team, and with another squad, another philosophy and a different organisation. But we are no less a side than them, and I seriously would not mind if we met them in the quarter finals."
Ribery signed for the Bavarian giants in 2007 from Marseille and since then has won two Bundesliga titles, two German Cups and lost two Champions League finals, to Inter Milan and Chelsea respectively.
Former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola will take over as the coach of Bayern in the summer when current boss Jupp Heynckes retires.
