Zubizarreta: "Anyone wearing a Milan shirt will be prepared"

"There are no favourites in ties like this. Milan are a huge club with a great history and they know how to compete in these games," said Barça's sporting director.

Barcelona's sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta has warned of the danger Barcelona face when they play AC Milan on Wednesday night at the San Siro.

The former goalkeeper insisted that, although this team seems weaker than the great Milan sides of the past, the Italians "know how to compete".

Zubizarreta also gave details of his recent trip to New York to visit Barça coach Tito Vilanova, who is recovering from cancer treatment in the United States.

Milan:"There are no favourites in ties like this one. Milan are a huge club with a great history and they know how to compete in these games. It will be a very difficult tie for us. They may have lesser known players, but anyone who wears that shirt will be well prepared for these types of nights. We know Milan well, but they know us well too. Great clubs know how to compete and get results. They won't be overawed by the pressure."

Plan of action:"We have a style of play, which is to attack and dominate possession. The evolution of the match will tell us what we have to do, and we'll have to read the game, but we always go out looking for the opponent's goal."

Business end of the season:"First we'll focus on the Champions League, then on the league and then we've got the Copa del Rey [semi-final second leg against Real Madrid]. We know that the fixtures pile up from February onwards and that from now on we'll be playing decisive games. But there are still many games left and many things to play for."

His meeting with Tito in New York: "He's very good, he is recovering well. We have to be careful, but we're taking it day by day while hoping that he continues to improve and that he'll be back here with us soon. He is still involved with everything that concerns the team, he is even more informed than us, perhaps because he's got a lot of time on his hands. He can analyse everything in an instant, even with the difficulty with the distance."
