Madrid host Rayo tomorrow with six men out. Three injured: Casillas, Özil and Xabi. Three suspended: Arbelo, Modric and Higuaín. The midfield is where the damage is most evident, so Mou may be forced to turn once again to Kaká.
The Brazilian has only played 553 minutes this season, but could start against Rayo, just as he did against Sevilla last week. In that game the midfielder played 67 minutes. In spite of that time on the pitch against the team from the South Kaká is the player from the first team (apart from Diego López who arrived in January) who has played the least this season. He's only ahead of the youth system products Nacho (362') and Morata (264').
Xabi Alonso did manage to train with the squad yesterday, despite his groin strain.
José Rodríguez call up
The presence of José Rodríguez was the main novelty in the training session. One day after renewing his contract until 2017 the youngster once again trained with Mourinho and will be in the squad for the Rayo game. The midfielder has played 155 minutes with the first team this season: 135' in the Cup against Alcoyano, 19' against Ajax in the Champions League and 1' in the League against Atlético de Madrid.
