Inter Milan are reported to be trying to convince Ruud Van Nistelrooy to come out of retirement in order to step in for their injured striker Diego Milito.
The Argentine suffered knee ligament damage during Inter's Europa League clash with Cluj on Thursday, which rules him out of action for the remainder of the season
President Massimo Moratti denied that Inter were looking for a replacement for the 34-year-old, but website 'Mediaset' has reported that the club are looking at signing Van Nistelrooy, who retired from football last year aged 36 after completing a season with Málaga.
Inter are reported to have made contact with the Dutchman to see if he wants to come out of retirement from now until the end of the season.
Another option the club are believed to be considering is the Czech striker Milan Baros, who rescinded his contract with Galatasaray last week.
