Barcelona have announced that David Villa will not travel with the squad for the league game against Granada on Saturday night.
Villa, who had to stay the night in hospital on two separate occasions during the week due to suffering from kidney stones, will remain in Barcelona, along with Xavi Hernández, who is close to returning to action after two weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
Both players are expected to be fit in time for Barça's trip to face AC Milan in the first leg of their last 16 Champions League tie on Wednesday.
Jonathan dos Santos and Éric Abidal have also been left out of the squad to travel to Granada, but Alex Song has been recalled after recovering from injury.
On Friday the squad held their final training session before the game with Granada and were visited by former Barça player Gabriel Milito, who retired from football last year.
Barça squad to travel to Granada: Valdés, Pinto, Alves, Piqué, Fábregas, Puyol, Iniesta, Alexis, Messi, Thiago, Mascherano, Bartra, Sergio, Pedro, Jordi Alba, Montoya, Adriano, Song, Tello.
