The newest call up to Vicente del Bosque's Spain squad for the friendly against Uruguay, Isco, said he was excited by the possibility of making his debut with 'La Roja'. The Málaga based attacking midfielder spoke to the press on his arrival in Qatar, where the friendly is to be played.
Call up: "I found out from my Mother, who sent me a Whatsapp. I was a bit taken aback. But I'm very happy, everyone congratulated me, and now I just want to enjoy the experience".
Having been called up before, did you continue to hope you would be in Del Bosque's plans? "The truth is my position makes it tough. The best of the world play for Spain, but little by little, if I keep doing things right, maybe I'll get a chance to break in. We're here to try, and to do the best we can and to help the team. I'm delighted to be here, and to have a chance to make my debut".
Uruguay, in the Khalifa International Stadium: "It would be delightful. It's a great place to play and we're excited to be playing the South American champions."
Amaya spitting on Diego Costa: "That deserves a punishment. The authorities need to step in and chastise him so it doesn't happen again".
