New Atlético de Madrid signing Emiliano Insúa was officially presented at midday on Wednesday. The defender posed with the number 22 shirt and later spoke of his joy at joining the Rojiblancos.
Dream come true: "When I was a boy, I dreamed of playing for one of the big Spanish clubs and Atleti is similar in a lot of ways to my club, Boca Juniors. It's a huge club".
Warm welcome: "The players gave me a warm welcome and everyone has been very friendly. I told them I was proud to be here and my initial feelings are good".
Atlético: "I have followed the team for a while, mainly because of Kun and Maxi. Atleti is an important club in Europe and the Spanish league. I like the way they play and the fact that they always go out to win every game. I cannot wait to get started - begin training and settle in. We are in three competitions and I hope I can gain the coach's confidence. I am raring to go".
Battle for a place: "I enjoy challenges. I will battle for a place in the team and having such a great player like Filipe Luis to compete with is a great motivation for me. The challenge will bring out my potential".
Previous club: "I am very grateful to Sporting for the relationships I made during the year and a half I was there. It's a shame that I had to leave but this is a big step forward in my career. I am delighted to be here and can't wait to start".
