New Real Madrid signing Diego López spoke to Spanish news agency EFE just moments after closing his 3.5 million-euro transfer to the capital side. The player said that it is "a dream to be returning to my home". The goalkeeper was in Seville with his wife and daughter when he found out that the deal to see him return to his former club had gone through.
López will wave goodbye to his Sevilla team mates tomorrow morning before taking the high-speed AVE train directly to Madrid where he will undergo a routine medical revision. "Negotiations accelerated this evening and I am very happy to be going back to the place I consider my home. For a Madridista like me, going back to Real Madrid is the greatest thing that could happen to me in my career. I cannot wait to begin this huge challenge", he told EFE.
