Real Madrid and Sevilla are reported to have reached an agreement for Diego López. The goalkeeper, who spent his formative years in Real Madrid's youth academy, left the capital club to join Villarreal before signing for Sevilla ahead of the current campaign.
Talks between the two clubs for the transfer of the goalkeeper were stepped up on Friday afternoon. The 31-year-old penned a five-year deal with Sevilla over the summer following Villarreal's relegation to the Liga Adelante. The southern side paid Villarreal 3.5 million euros in the operation.
Diego López has failed to lock down a regular place between the posts for the Andalucians with Andrés Palop being the team's first choice goalkeeper. The deal between the two clubs to bring the player back to the Santiago Bernabéu was struck late on Friday night.
