Both Barcelona and Real Sociedad had complaints with referee Alberto Undiano Mallenco during their exciting encounter at Anoeta, which the Basques won 3-2.
La Real wanted the referee to send off Andrés Iniesta for a second bookable offence with five minutes remaining in the game.
The Spain and Barcelona midfielder was shown a yellow card on 60 minutes and risked getting another on 85 minutes when he tripped Carlos Vela and brought a counter attack by the hosts to a halt. Undiano gave the foul, but kept his cards in his pocket, despite the complaints from Real Sociedad players.
Barcelona, meanwhile, were furious when Gerard Piqué was sent off after 58 minutes for a second yellow card.
After the game, the centre-back wrote a message on his Twitter account protesting his treatment by referees this season.
He tweeted: "Season 2012-13: 14 games played, seven fouls committed, five yellow cards, one red."
