Atlético de Madrid right-back Juanfran is almost certain to miss Sunday's league visit from Levante after suffering a muscular injury in the team's Copa del Rey quarter-final first leg against Betis. The defender hobbled off the pitch on 70 minutes and was replaced by Cata Díaz during Thursday night's game. Tests conducted this morning detected a sprain to the player's left hamstring and although club medical staff have decided to wait for the results of further tests, Juanfran is almost certainly ruled out of Sunday's league meeting with Levante.
Diego Simeone's squad returned to the training pitch on Friday morning with two noticeable absentees - both of the goal scorers from the 2-0 win over Betis, Falcao and Filipe Luis. There was no explanation as to why the Brazilian was unable to attend the session, which left Simeone without both of his first choice full-backs with just one day to prepare for Sunday's game.
