Nuri Sahin is going back to Borussia Dortmund. The player who is signed to Real Madrid until 2017 has been on loan at Liverpool but Brendan Rogers has given the player vanishingly few chances over the past months. Sahin, a player who Jurgen Klopp is keen on, has been constantly linked with Dortmund since he failed to break in at Real Madrid. The Spanish club signed the player from Dortmund in 2011. What is not clear is who will be responsible for the player's wages.
The player's new loan club was confirmed at 6 p.m. this afternoon, Friday, with Dortmund then due to host a press conference at 7 p.m. Sahin cost Real Madrid 10 million euros in 2011, however injury niggles and the authority of Xabi Alonso meant he never broke into the first team on a regular basis. Mourinho didn't trust his rhythm, preferring to play Xabi with Khedira, believing that the two were a better fit. Both Liverpool and Arsenal were interested in the player last summer, but the good relationship between Rodgers and Mou led to his move to Liverpool.
He is now returning to Dortmund, the club where he has felt most at home during his career, and where he helped them win the Bundesliga while being voted Best Player in Germany 2011.
